HOW THE EIGHTER FOOD TRUCK CHALLENGE BEGAN…
In 2017, the Decatur Chamber of Commerce introduced the very first Food Truck Competition in Wise County, The Eighter Food Truck Challenge, an experience that would become one of Decatur's signature events. The Chamber's special events team anticipated around 3,000 - 5,000 people to be in attendance for the inaugural event and hoped to secure food trucks from around the state to compete. The first Challenge blew the team's goals out of the water with over a dozen food trucks registered. After an outpouring of support from the community, the Chamber knew The Eighter Food Truck Challenge was here to stay.
